Fyfe were engaged by Starfish Developments early in 2018 to assist with infrastructure planning for the Dock 1 development at Port Adelaide.

The Port Adelaide Redevelopment is an ongoing high density redevelopment of a brownfield site located on the banks of the Port River. The project will provide approximately 800 dwellings through a mix of multi-storey townhouses and apartment buildings. A waterfront promenade, floating homes and refurbished Harbour Masters building will feature in the finished project.

Once Planning approval was granted, Fyfe proceeded to undertake detail infrastructure design of roads, stormwater drainage, sewer and water reticulation and to coordinate the location of utility connections to all of the proposed allotments. The configuration of the allotments narrow public laneways has required detailed attention be given to services and connection locations, co-ordinating with proposed property access points. A detailed stormwater management was prepared for the site and detailed design proceeded on that basis, incorporating Water Sensitive Urban Design measures as appropriate. Construction of Stage 1 has progressed with Fyfe acting as superintendent, liaising with the Contractor and Council as well as Starfish.
