We’re proud to be supporting a major carbon removal and decarbonisation initiative in North Queensland, delivering long‑term emissions reductions alongside meaningful land and environmental restoration.
Coralia and NoviqTech have appointed Fyfe as advisor on the Great Barrier Reef Biochar Project, which will clear up to 2 million tonnes of invasive woody weeds and convert them into biochar – a carbon‑rich material that locks away carbon for the long term.
The project will generate high‑integrity carbon removal credits to help offset emissions from data centre operations, while also supplying biochar for low‑carbon construction materials such as cement and insulation. It is expected to deliver strong regional benefits, including reduced sediment runoff to the Great Barrier Reef and improved invasive species management.
Fyfe’s integrated planning, environmental and approvals expertise, combined with our ecology and drone capabilities, is helping to streamline project delivery. By providing early constraints identification through regulatory approvals and compliance, Fyfe is reducing risk and supporting strong environmental outcomes.
