Chris Nixon

NSW Survey

Chris is a Senior Surveyor and Registered Mine Surveyor who has over 20 years’ surveying experience. This includes 12 years in the mining and quarrying industry and four years within civil, as well as cadastral and hydrographic skills. Chris joined Fyfe in 2016 filling the role of NSW Survey Manager for Fyfe Pty Ltd.

His expertise encompasses a diverse range of skills and qualifications, including being an Unrestricted Registered Mining Surveyor certified under the Surveying and Spatial Information Act 2002. He is proficient in operating various GNSS equipment from different brands, as well as machine guidance, laser scanning, total station technology, and relevant software packages. Additionally, he has received training in GNSS post-processing and has experience working with survey control networks. Safety is paramount in his work, as evidenced by his possession of a First Aid Certificate and TapRoot Lite incident training.

He demonstrates a solid understanding of the Development Consent, MOP, and AEMR processes, along with a thorough knowledge of Australian standards, legislation, and company procedures. Moreover, he serves as a Laser Safety Officer and holds a current CASA remote pilot license for conducting commercial drone surveys.
